Our Yesterday

Founded in April of 1989 in McLaren Street , Johannesburg by Mr. Giovanni Bonavera, as an agent for Avandero, Transmedit Forwarding cc specialized in freighting cargo from Italy and Spain. Avandero established in 1746, is not only the oldest forwarding company in Italy, but also the largest. In its infancy Transmedit Forwarding’s major focus was moving ceramic tiles of which we forwarded an average of 300 TEU’s a month.

Our Today

Experience and a consistently dedicated staff is a fundamental asset of any service provider. It comes from many years of accumulated work experience in each part of the job, with different customers and different companies. In keeping with our vision of becoming a global forwarder Transmedit Forwarding now has an extensive network in variety of industries shipping their different commodities via air or sea – breakbulk , FCL ,LCL and from Italy our own groupage boxes as well as weekly airfreight consoles. Transmedit Forwarding and our clients can rely on long-standing co-operations with leading forwarding and logistics firms across the globe. As a result we act as an interface between the growing trading economy of South Africa with the most advanced industrial nations. These industries include retail, fashion, automotive, food, beverages, energy, building, construction, medical, catering and decor. Transmedit Forwarding is a member of the South African Association of Freight Forwarders ( SAAFF ) which allows us to inform and protect our clients in the dynamically changing industry of shipping .
